Computer Basics
Today’s warmup activity is to explore the Internet Public Library website for teens and see if you can locate useful resources for teens.
Journal Topic: Explain step-by-step how to create a poster using desktop publishing tools in MS Word.
Students will explore templates available at microsoft.com.
Students will create gmail accounts and become familiar with the many tools available for free through Google.

IB Business Management
Students will critically analyze the EvePearl case study found here. As a class we’ll discuss the pros and cons of advertising on ShopNBC (like QVC). Next we’ll review the “EXP: THE CHINESE EXPERIENCE” case study from p. 30 of your text. In our discussion, students need to examine the pros and cons of smaller businesses. If time permits, we’ll continue our discussion on the differences between sole proprietorships, partnerships and corporations.
Homework: In accordance with my “Parents as Partners” philosophy, explain the differences between sole proprietorships, partnerships and corporations to folks at home. Bring in a parent/guardian signature showing you taught them a valuable lesson from business management class.
