All students, here is your Question of the Day.

Personal Finance / Introduction to Business
Students will be able to explain SWOT analysis. Students will research SWOT analyses of major corporations. Students will analyze their stock portfolios. Students will make buy/sell recommendations to their team leaders. Here is a link for help with SWOT analysis.
Here is a link to the Stock Market Competition.
Homework: Look over stocks within your SECTOR and make “BUY” recommendations for your team. What stocks are hot, which are not?

Computer Science 1
For today’s warm up activity, click here and see how many countries you can name in 12 minutes. Feel free to work with a partner.
Today we will get into the hot topic of Blogging. What is a blog? Are you a blogger? What internet blogs have you read? Have you ever left a comment on a blog? What is anonymity?
Students will read The Top 10 Reasons We Deleted Your Comment from the New York Times and summarize in the list the 10 reasons comments were deleted.
Next students will choose a blog of their interest to read from the NY Times Blog Directory. I encourage you to make thoughtful comments to elevate the level of conversation. Consider ending your comment with a question and see if someone responds.

12th Grade IB Business Management
Students (authors) will have an opportunity to respond to Peer Edit comments made by peer editors yesterday. Students will have time to work on Internal Assessments. Those who are near completion may work on a SWOT analysis for the Investment Competition report due at the end of February.
Homework: Work on that Internal Assessment and begin reading Unit 5.5 on Location.

11th Grade IB Business Management
Students will work on creating a SWOT analysis on a company they are “investing” in. Students will make buy/sell recommendations to the team leaders.
Homework: Begin reading Unit 1.9, taking structured notes. Review Lewin’s Force Field Analysis in HL Unit 1.8.
